The class is international, multilingual, with a homogeneous linguistic level: A1 Italian, Breakthrough / Beginner level.
The didactic approach used in the language class provides for the integrated development of linguistic comprehension and production skills through the performance of tasks, within a highly communicative context.
Living in Venice is the best and most effective context for language learning.
The interaction between teacher and peers is central to the teaching method and it makes the interaction meaningful.

ABILITIES / LANGUAGE SKILLS
During the course the 4 language abilities (listening, speaking, reading and writing) will be practiced in order to reach the A1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A1 Italian, Breakthrough / Beginner level: a basic ability to communicate and exchange information in a simple way.

The outgoing linguistic assessment takes place according to the international reference standards (CEFR reference framework). The test training is an effective tool for developing written and oral comprehension language skills. The evaluation is also intended as predictive, giving us indications on what the students will be able to do in the continuation of their academic career.
The student can recognize familiar words and very basic statements concerning him/herself, the family and immediate concrete surroundings. He /she can use single phrases and sentences in areas of immediate need, can write a short email or a message, can fill in a form with personal details, can ask and answer simple questions.
The student can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Verification of learning takes place through homework exams, ongoing exams, a midterm exam and a final exam according to a grade breakdown shared with the students at the beginning of the program

Partecipation and attendance (10%) - Mid-term test (30%) - Final test (60%) = total score
The EXAM FORMAT will be basen on : - Listening comprehension - Reading comprehension - Grammar and vocabulary - Writing production - Speaking / Oral production. The final vote is /30, according to the Italian University system; minimum score to pass the exam is 18/30.
