The course Language and Translation 2 Module 1 falls among the characterizing teachings of the Bachelor's Degree in Language and Cultural Mediation. The general objective of the teaching is to know the basics of translanguaging and the profession of translator and language and cultural mediator.
The course focuses on providing students with the basics of translation, such as definitions of translation, types and modes of translation, translation errors and problems, methods, translator competence, translation strategies and techniques. The main purpose is to make the student aware of the factors that condition the translator's decisions. At the end of the course, the notion of specialized translation will be introduced as a preparation topic for module 2.

The assessment for the Spanish Language and Translation 2 course (12 CFU) is conducted through three tests:
1. A written test for Spanish Language and Translation 2, Module 1 (duration: 45 minutes)

3. An oral exam for the entire annual course (duration: approximately 10 minutes)

The minimum passing score for the written tests in Module 1 and Module 2 is 9/15. Once a student has received a passing grade, the course instructor will conduct the oral exam during the official exam sessions, calculate the final average, and officially record the overall grade for Spanish Language and Translation 2.
The 12 CFU for the Spanish language course will be officially recorded only after the student has completed the entire process, which consists of both parts. As this is an annual course, passing one of the partial tests does not entitle the student to have the corresponding credits for that test recorded (for example, 6 CFU for Module 1).
Students will have the opportunity to take the partial tests for Module 1 and Module 2 either during the official exam sessions or at the end of the lessons for the respective modules in the form of a pre-exam or mid-term test. The dates for the mid-term tests will be communicated to the students by the instructor. Students who intend to take the Module 1 pre-exam must also take the Module 2 pre-exam; it is not possible to take the pre-exam for only one module. The grades obtained on the partial tests (including the pre-exams) are valid for the current academic year.
