Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
Expected learning outcomes
1) Knowledge and understanding: knowledge of German (corresponding to level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages); understanding of written texts in the field of tourism;
2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: ability to use language skills to produce written texts appropriate to academic and professional contexts, in particular in the tourism sector.
3) Autonomy of judgement: ability to select and use reliable sources of information written in German, such as websites dedicated to study and work in an international context; ability to deal adequately with requests made by German-speaking customers in tourism contexts; ability to select a bibliography of German texts relevant to the tourism economy.
4) Communicative skills: ability to communicate in writing by producing articulated texts in German (corresponding to level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages) which may be required in the academic and working field; in oral production, ability to manage requests and situations, giving information, finding appropriate solutions in relevant contexts in the tourism sector.
5) Learning ability: to continue the consolidation of language skills in the academic and working world, both through the autonomous preparation of written texts and through the ability to manage oral communication.

Referral texts
In case of difficulty in downloading, students can contact the teacher for the pdf by email (giuliana.scotto@unive.it). Pages relevant to the examination will be selected from this text during the lectures (the relevant pages will be communicated on moodle). An integral part of the course is also a handout on the language of the pandemic, which students should request by email from the teacher and of which a few pages will be read during the lectures in order to acquire the specific vocabulary relevant to tourism in the time of the coronavirus pandemic.
NB: Students are kindly requested to bring the text with them since the first lecture. Thos who have difficulty in finding the volume (needed to profitably follow the lessons in the classroom) are requested to contact the teacher on time.
For the purposes of private study, the following grammar is also recommended: H. DREYER, R. Schmitt, Die neue Gelbe, Hueber, latest edition with explanations in Italian.

28-30L: excellent knowledge of German grammar roughly corresponding to the level B1+ of the European Framework for Languages; excellent skills in writing an email using tourism vocabulary and articulating sentences (main, subordinate implicit and explicit) grammatically and syntactically correct with appropriate use of the Anredewendungen required by a formal text; excellent comprehension and oral interaction skills in a short interview using the tourist vocabulary acquired during the course ;
26-27: good knowledge of German grammar roughly corresponding to level B1+ of the European Framework for Languages; good writing skills of an e-mail using economic vocabulary and articulating simple sentences syntactically correct with few grammatical errors; good comprehension and oral interaction skills in a short interview using the tourist vocabulary acquired during lessons;
24-25: good knowledge of the most important rules of German grammar roughly corresponding to level B1+ of the European Framework for Languages; good writing skills of a mail that uses the vocabulary of tourism and articulates simple sentences mostly correct with few serious errors of grammar and with sufficiently correct use of Anredewendungen; ability to understand and interact orally in a short interview using the tourist vocabulary acquired during the course;
22-23: superficial knowledge of the most important rules of German grammar roughly corresponding to level B1+ of the European Framework for Languages; ability to write an email using the vocabulary of tourism that reveals some gaps in the syntactically correct formulation of sentences, contains several grammatical errors and uses in a lackluster way the Anredewendungen required by a non-colloquial text; approximate comprehension and oral interaction skills in a short interview using the tourist vocabulary acquired during the course;
18-21: incomplete knowledge of German grammar roughly corresponding to level B1 of the European Framework for Languages; approximate ability to write an email using tourism lexicon which shows several gaps in syntax and general lexicon knowledge; Ability to understand and interact orally on the basis of vocabulary acquired during the course just sufficient.
