The course is primarily intended for students who have gaps in their basic knowledge of mathematics as taught in high school.
The aim of the course is twofold: to provide useful tools for more effectively tackling first-year subjects, and to offer a fast-track path for passing the test required to fulfill additional educational obligations (OFA).
1. Knowledge
1.1 Properties of numbers (natural, integer, rational, real) and of the main operations.
1.2 Principles for solving polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and irrational equations and inequalities.
1.3 Properties of elementary functions.

2. Skills
2.1 Simplification of expressions involving powers, exponentials, logarithms, and trigonometric functions.
2.2 Solving polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and irrational equations and inequalities.
2.3 Graphing elementary functions.

3. Learning Abilities
3.1 Ability to take notes and interact with the instructor through active participation in lessons.
3.2 Ability to assess one’s own progress through mock tests.
Basic mathematics at lower secondary school level.

TRIGONOMETRY

- Graphs and properties of sine, cosine, and tangent functions;
- Trigonometric equations and inequalities.

- Basic elements of combinatorics
- Basic elements of logic and set theory
Any high school mathematics textbook is suitable for the course.
At the BAS library, several volumes on the fundamentals of mathematics are available, such as:
- Basic Mathematics, by Anna Maria Bigatti and Lorenzo Robbiano, published by Zanichelli (chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4).
The course does not include a final evaluation, but it offers the opportunity to fulfill the OFA requirement by passing a test that will be administered at the end of the course and again at the beginning of each exam session.
The test consists of a written exam lasting 45 minutes, with 30 multiple-choice questions. A minimum of 16 correct answers is required to pass. Several mock tests will be available.
not present
The course does not include a final assessment.
- Frontal lessons.
- Classroom exercises.

The teaching materials are made available on Moodle to support individual study and independent learning.
