Within the Innovation and Management for Culture and Creativity degree program, the Labour Law and Contracts in Cultural and Creative Industries course aims to provide the tools for knowledge, understanding, and application of regulatory techniques and national and supranational disciplines relating to employment relationships in creative contexts and intellectual property rights protections (copyright, trademark protection in cultural industries).
Specifically, the curriculum encompasses both fundamental aspects of labour law (worker classification, legal protections, contractual arrangements), addressing the sector’s growing economic importance alongside the often-precarious working conditions experienced by professionals in the field, as well as sector-specific considerations such as intellectual property rights protection. It also explores current topics relevant to the sector, which may be further analysed through students' participation and group presentations.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply analytical tools for understanding and implementing national and supranational regulatory frameworks governing labour in the cultural and creative sectors
- Acquire and use a correct and effective language in the regulation of labour relations
- Navigate the complexities of the current labour market and various contractual arrangements, both as employees and employers
