The workshop presents basic methodologies for developing a master's thesis, including defining the topic, choosing the methodological approach, collecting and critically analyzing the bibliography and any data, writing and editing the text. It will take into account the different disciplinary areas of the participating students.

Students will receive methodological guidance related to the preparation of the thesis and in particular will acquire basic knowledge and skills that will help them increase their abilities to:
- design a research project, including formulation of the research question, choice of methodology, analysis;
- use of physical catalogs, digital libraries, and databases for bibliographic research;
- construct the thesis outline;
- address research ethical issues, including the use of AI;
- analyze a text by selecting information that is functional to one's argument;
- apply editorial rules for layout of the text, citations, footnotes, and final bibliography;
- write a text that is correct in terms of spelling, morpho-syntax, and style;
- proofread the text, correcting typos and taking care of consistency.

There are no requirements for this class.
The workshop will touch on the following topics:
- thesis design;
- conducting a research project;
- drafting the text;
- presenting and discussing the thesis before the committee.

Each student will develop his or her own thesis project along the workshop.
Texts will be provided at the beginning of the course.
Written exam.

It will possible to take jntermediate tests that allow exemption from parts of the written exam.
