The aim of the course is to explain the relationship between philosophy and economics and to understand the evolution of economics as a science.
At the end of the course the student should be able to: 1) understand the differences among various economic theories; 2) expressing ones opinions and points of view on a variety of economic concepts.

2) Pre-classical economic thought;
3) Classical economic thought;
4) Marxian School;
5) Neoclassical economic thought;
6) Keynesian Economics;
7) Contemporary developments.

At the end of the course, there will be a written exam; the student will have to answer open-ended questions and multiple-choice questions.

The instructor is responsible for ensuring the authenticity and originality of all examinations and coursework. In cases of suspected academic misconduct, an additional on-site assessment may be required during the exams, which may differ from the standard format.

The written exam consists of 12 multiple-choice questions, each worth 2 points. The open-ended question is worth 8 points. This question requires a reasoned argument on topics covered in the lecturer's notes, which are available on the Moodle platform and discussed during class sessions.
