Lingua Catalana is divided into two modules, of which the exercises are annual and include 60 hours of teaching. The remaining module concerns 30 hours of frontal lessons held during the second semester and includes 30 teaching hours.

Lingua Catalana offers communicative courses for beginners and advanced students and aims to introduce students to the Catalan language and culture. The course offers students the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the Catalan language. The general objective of the teaching is to develop all the linguistic skills to reach from an A2 to a B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
MODULO ESERCITAZIONI
The Catalan language exercises module aims to develop solid language skills, focusing on the acquisition of a vocabulary appropriate for everyday communication situations and mastery of grammatical structures, with the goal of reaching level B2 of the CEFR. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand and produce written and oral texts from level A2 to B2, correctly using the syntactic, morphological, and phonological resources of the language. The course promotes the independent application of the knowledge acquired in real communicative contexts, encouraging linguistic analysis and the conscious use of the Catalan language in everyday situations.

MODULO TEORICO

2. To understand the current state of knowledge regarding the use of language in contemporary Catalan society.
3. To analyze and understand the main differences in the Catalan language and its varieties in different communicative situations.
4. To read, analyze, and understand texts in Catalan.
5. Express opinions and present arguments regarding specific topics discussed in class and/or during presentations.
6. Examine the development of the Catalan language from a historical perspective, particularly in relation to the work of specific cultural figures such as writers, poets, cultural mediators, journalists, activists.
None / Nessun prerequisito.

- Activities carried out within the exercise module, which may include: writing short texts, exercises and tests on grammar and language use, oral presentations;
- Final written exam (60 minutes), which will focus on the contents of the theoretical module.

The lecturer has a duty to ensure that the rules regarding the authenticity and originality of exam tests and papers are respected. Therefore, if there is suspicion of irregular conduct, an additional assessment may be conducted, which could differ from the original exam description.

Learning assessment and evaluation will be divided as follows:
- Activities carried out within the exercise module, which may include: writing short texts, exercises and tests on grammar and language use, oral presentations (50%);
- Final written exam (60 minutes), which will focus on the contents of the theoretical module (50%).
The course is based on a communicative approach and practical activities in small groups to promote effective and personalized learning. The teaching combines grammar textbooks and structured exercises with the use of authentic and multimedia resources, thus integrating theory and practice.
Joining the courses of Catalan language gives students the opportunity to access internships and work placements abroad, as well as to participate in intensive two-week language stays, organized annually during the summer in locations such as Valencia, Mallorca, Girona, and Andorra. These initiatives are possible thanks to the linguistic and cultural activities promoted by the Institut Ramon Llull, the Government of Andorra, and the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua.
