The course aims to provide students with the tools for the understanding, analysis and application of managerial methodologies to develope entrepreneurial and strategic skills, also according an international perspective.
The lessons shall guide the students to learn and use the main tools of management accounting
Business plan development
Usage of the management accounting tools in real cases
Development of critical assessment skills and application of accounting methods
Students are expected to meet the curricular requirements set out in the Teaching Regulations of the Master's Degree Programme in Global Development and Entrepreneurship (GDE) (EM12).
In particular, adequate prior knowledge of business administration and financial statement analysis is required for this course.

Students' learning is assessed through a written examination.

The written examination covers the course contents and consists of one open-ended question (4 marks), 15 multiple-choice questions (15 marks in total), and three problem-solving exercises (4 marks each). The examination is designed to assess students' understanding of the course material, analytical and reasoning skills, and ability to communicate their answers effectively.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to complete a group project, which will be presented in class. Successful completion of the project may earn bonus points that will be added to the final mark of the written examination. The group project will be introduced by the instructor during the first class and will require students to apply the concepts covered in the course to practical cases.

The instructor is responsible for ensuring the authenticity and originality of all examinations and coursework. In cases of suspected academic misconduct, an additional on-site assessment may be required during the exams, which may differ from the standard format.

The course is based on:
a) Frontal lessons;
b) Practical lessons;
b) Thematic in-depth case studies proposed to students through assignments or managers' interventions.
