The laboratory in social work methodologies is designed as an experiential learning space that integrates theory and practice. Its aim is to develop operational skills for needs assessment, case management, and the planning of interventions. Through exercises, simulations, and case study analysis, students can apply and experiment with social work tools and techniques. Special attention is given to the helping relationship, teamwork, and the ethical use of professional instruments. The laboratory thus provides a practical and reflective framework for social work methodologies, promoting active learning.
The expected learning outcomes concern the acquisition of theoretical and practical competences in the main methodologies of social work. The students will be able to analyse situations of need and develop a critical understanding of intervention contexts. The development of skills in the design and management of individual and group social interventions is also expected. Another expected outcome is the strengthening of relational, communication, and empathetic skills within the helping relationship. Finally, the students will develop awareness of the professional role and the ethical principles that guide social work practice.
There are no prerequisites for taking part in the laboratory.
