It would be better to have attended at least the main course in Etruscology and Italic Archaeology, e.g. the first module. However, the basics will be recoverable in itinere. It is, anyway, essential that students have a good knowledge of Italian and European physical and morphological geography.
The course aims to examine the manifestations of worship in the Etruscan and Italic worlds, including in relation to the formation of cities and socio-political evolution. The aim is to highlight the main assumptions that led to the development of forms of devotion linked to specific social and political organizations. The emergence of monumental architecture and statuary, and their connection with the issues of borders and territorial organization, will also be analyzed.

Assessment will be based on the level of knowledge and understanding of the images presented in class and available in the assigned bibliography; the ability to identify the subjects and define their chronology; the ability to rework the messages contained in the images and to relate them to specific socio-cultural contexts; and the level of personal and critical reworking.
oral

The lecturer has a duty to ensure that the rules regarding the authenticity and originality of exam tests and papers are respected. Therefore, if there is suspicion of irregular conduct, an additional assessment may be conducted, which could differ from the original exam description.

A test is considered sufficient (18-22/30) if the student is able to recognize more than half of the images tested; identify the subjects, describe the characteristics and forms of the cult, and the socio-cultural organizations related to them, even in a broad and general manner.
A test is considered good (22-26/30) if the student is able to identify two-thirds of the images tested, indicate their cultural context, and hypothesize a chronology;
A test is considered excellent (27-30/30) if the student is able to identify all the images tested, contextualize them chronologically and culturally, place the manifestations of the cult in the correct cultural contexts, and also describe their nuances or connections.
an excellent test (30/30 Honors) is considered to be one in which the student is able to identify all the images submitted for testing, place them culturally and chronologically and provide a personal and critical reworking of the message conveyed in the various manifestations of worship and the organization of religion in an institutional sense for a historical and social reconstruction.
