The course is part of the three-year degree course in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa.

Given that the aim of the course is to train professionals in the field of:

a) intercultural communication and to enter professionally in various sectors, public and private, such as cultural institutions and museums, national and community public institutions, international organizations;

b) drafting and translating texts with cultural relevance and linguistic assistance activities for companies and other organizations.

c) organization and promotion of cultural and artistic events (exhibitions, reviews, festivals, etc.) and work for companies and organizations interested in the markets of Asia and Mediterranean Africa.

The course will provide students with the tools to understand:
1. The principles of economics and the concept of the firm
2. The new challenges faced by firms in the contemporary business ecosystem
3. The methods and forms of firm management
4. Market interaction: consumer analysis and marketing strategies
The objectives of the course are to provide students with the fundamental concepts of business management by illustrating both the traditional pillars of the discipline (strategy, competitive analysis, business functions, and the value chain) and the main dynamics that are reshaping the business ecosystem and the sources of competitive advantage (e.g., sustainability).
Attendance and active participation in the course activities, which combine lectures and group work, together with individual study, will enable students to acquire and understand the fundamental concepts and principles of business management, identify the determinants of competitive advantage, and analyze the models applied by firms.
The course materials and practical workshops will also allow students to apply the disciplines covered (strategy, marketing, and consumer behavior) to real-world business cases, providing hands-on experience of the activities carried out within companies.
There are no prerequisites required for this course/teaching.

The final exam is a written test consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions (15 minutes, 2 points for each correct answer, -0.5 points for each incorrect answer, and 0 points for unanswered questions).
Students may also improve their final grade by completing an optional group project.
The exam will cover the topics discussed in class (lecture slides and notes) as well as the textbook (all 8 chapters).

The instructor is responsible for ensuring the authenticity and originality of all examinations and coursework. In cases of suspected academic misconduct, an additional on-site assessment may be required during the exams, which may differ from the standard format.

The evaluation will be expressed on a 30-point scale.
The passing grade is 18/30.
The maximum grade is 30/30, with the possible awarding of honors (lode).
This course will involve classroom lessons.

This subject deals with topics related to the macro-area "Circular economy, innovation, work" and contributes to the achievement of one or more goals of U. N. Agenda for Sustainable Development
