Expected learning outcomes
The French Language course aims to provide students with an average level of knowledge of the French language and culture:
1. Linguistic objectives
Teaching is based on reading, translating, and analyzing French-language texts (see course reference texts).
1. 1.Oral and written comprehension: reading and translation of French texts, ability to rephrase, general comprehension of the text.
1. 2.Oral production: presentation in French of the topics covered during the lessons.
2. Cultural objectives
2.1.Understanding the historical, political, cultural, and social context of contemporary France, within which the texts under study are inserted.
2.2 Insertion of the French context in a European perspective.
Achieving these objectives should enable students to acquire level B1 of the European framework
At the end of teaching, the student will have to demonstrate:
1) to be able to read, understand, translate, and comment on socio-economic, financial, or tourism texts in French through the analytical tools used during the teacher's course;

At the end of teaching, the student will have to demonstrate:
1) to be able to read, understand, translate, comment, through the analytical tools used during the teacher's course, socio-economic, financial or tourism texts, in French;
2) to possess knowledge of the French language (level B1+ of the CEFR), with particular regard to some linguistic structures used in written and oral language, to understand the main ideas of complex texts, particularly regarding the vocabulary inherent in immigration to France during its main periods, the labor crisis and the phases of the treatment of workers from an economic and housing point of view.
II. Lectors course strengthens the knowledge and competence connected with the written and oral expression in French through the revision and/or acquisition of the sintactic – linguistic structures : the productions and the linguistic skills will correspond to B2 level of the QCER in terms of comprehension ( listening – reading, translating), speaking ( oral production), writing (written productions of dictations and texts ).

The course will focus, in particular, on the history, immigration policy, and integration in France, from the 19th to the 21st century, taking into consideration the following aspects: Introduction; Texte 0 Naissance et évolutions des territoires des banlieues; Texte 1 - France généralités; Texte 2 - La France, terre d'immigration; Texte 2 Bis - Immigration 1800-1975; Texte 3 - La France, premier pays d'immigration entre les deux guerres; Texte 4 - La tradition de terre d'accueil de la France en cause; Texte 5 - Les Trente Glorieuses et l'immigration; Texte 6 - La reconstruction; Texte 6 - La reconstruction.
The course will be completed with notes on the historical, political, social and cultural context of contemporary France.
Starting from authentic French-language texts, the course will follow a double approach: 1) The course will focus, in particular, on the history, immigration and integration policy in contemporary France 2) aspects of tourism in France

Assessment methods
- a written part that is composed of a grammar test prepared by the Cel teacher which is preliminary to the oral exam;
- an oral part to take with the teacher of the course.
The students will be required to prepare "Travaux pratiques" assigned by the teacher and the linguistic expert.
Grammatical assessment will be carried out through a written test, preparatory to the oral exam, consisting of exercises of the same type as those carried out during lessons with the language expert.
Once this section is completed, we will move on to the content assessment, based on an interview (in French) regarding the exam program texts, which can be downloaded from the teaching materials on the teacher's website.
The final grade will be the average between grammatical and content assessment.
Type of exam
The instructor is responsible for ensuring the authenticity and originality of all examinations and coursework. In cases of suspected academic misconduct, an additional on-site assessment may be required during the exams, which may differ from the standard format.
Grading scale
The French language exam consists of 2 parts:
1. A linguistic assessment, carried out by the teacher Cel, which consists in the assessment of the grammar test administered during the examination (on the model of exercises carried out in class and with an assessment of 45 points out of 60) + the evaluation of the curriculum of the student/ or/ and as a simulation of a job application (10 points on 60) + a letter of motivation in French (5 points out of 60) written by/or female students/s. Both the CV and the letter must be delivered in paper form on the day of the written test. The final grade of the written part corresponds to the sum of the 3 parts reported on 30. After passing the written test with a minimum score of 18/30 of which at least 22/45 to the grammar test, you access the oral part.

Teaching methods
The teacher always activates the course recording in "Panopto" mode by connecting at the beginning of each lesson. Therefore, students "so-called 701", with a specific status, will have access to dedicated material that will allow them a teaching experience comparable and substitute compared to those who have the opportunity to attend.
