RESEARCH FOCUS

I am a Classical archaeologist with over a decade of research and fieldwork experience, specialising in Roman and Early Medieval amphorae, and in the ancient economy of the Northern Adriatic. My expertise lies in the study of Adriatic productions, market systems, and patterns of supply and redistribution of goods, with a particular focus on the exploitation of coastal landscapes for harbour, commercial, and productive activities. By combining traditional ceramic analysis with advanced statistical modelling, I reconstruct economic scenarios grounded in evidence from extensive stratigraphic excavations in coastal and lagoon contexts. My international research experience includes participation in archaeological missions in Morocco and Mauritius, and collaborations with Superintendencies, museums, universities, and archaeological companies in Italy and abroad. I actively disseminate research outcomes through conferences, peer-reviewed articles, a monograph, exhibitions, and public lectures. I have organised training workshops, delivered academic lectures, co-supervised MA and postgraduate specialisation theses, and co-organised an international conference on the Roman economy of the Northern Adriatic regions.
