Pamela Pasian is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a Lecturer at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She obtained a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Padua in 2017.

In 2019 she joined Ca’Foscari University for the INTERREG Central Europe project “SIforREF – Integrating refugees in society and labour market through social innovation” coordinated by Francesca Campomori (Ca’Foscari University of Venice). Later, she was involved in the Horizon2020 project “VULNER - Vulnerabilities Under the Global Protection Regime” coordinated by Luc Leboeuf (Max Planck Institute – Halle, Germany). The research team based in Ca' Foscari University was coordinated by Sabrina Marchetti. Currently she is working on the INTERREG Central Europe project "GEtCoheSive- Governance Enhancement for Cohesive Societies" coordinated by Francesca Campomori (Ca’Foscari University of Venice). 

Her work focuses mainly on international migration, gender and care.

She has published articles in journals such as Ethnography, Innovation-The European Journal of Social Science Research; Mondi migranti; La Rivista delle Politiche Sociali etc. In her monography "Doulas in Italy. The emergence of a 'new' care profession", published in 2022, she investigated the emergence of doulas as care professionals, who support emotionally and practically women during pregnancy, childbirth and in the postpartum period.

She took part in several national and international research projects on violence against women, international migration, reproductive and oncological health.
