Silvia Boraso has been a Researcher at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice since 2025. Her research interests range from Francophone literatures, particularly from the Atlantic area, to colonial and decolonial studies, ecocriticism, digital humanities, and women’s autobiographical writing, with a special focus on seventeenth-century religious texts. She earned her PhD through a joint supervision agreement between Ca’ Foscari University and Université Paris-Est Créteil, receiving the SOCARE Award 2024 for her dissertation. She is currently the scientific coordinator of the EMAN website Paysages haïtiens and the project WHRAP – Writing Haiti. Racialized representations of Haiti in the Francophone Atlantic Press (1801-1915) (PNRR, Bando Young Researcher 2024). She also collaborates with the PRIN project Bringing out an invisible female literary corpus: religious writing in the French-speaking world at the time of the Counter-Reformation, as well as with the interuniversity research centers CRIAR and Visages. She serves on the editorial boards of the journals Il Tolomeo: A Postcolonial Studies JournalInterfrancophonies, and CRIANDO. Previously, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Université de Haute-Alsace and taught Francophone literatures at Université Savoie-Mont Blanc and French literature and culture at the University of Genoa.
