Andrea Bertaiola earned his B.A. in Cultural Heritage, his M.A. in Archaeology, and his Diploma of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage from the University of Milan. He then moved to Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Ancient Heritage Studies. He is currently a research fellow at the Department of Humanities, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as part of the SPIN project Ancient Landscapes: Mapping the Historical Dynamics of Ancient Sicily (PI: Stefania De Vido), and an adjunct professor at the University of Milan. He is a senior member of the international archaeological mission conducted by the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and the University of Milan on the Acropolis of Selinunte (director: Clemente Marconi). Since 2025, he has also been part of the cooperative project between the Freie Universität Berlin, the German Archaeological Institute in Rome, and the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, entitled A New Model for the Western City District of Selinunte (Sicily) (PI: Melanie Jonasch).
