1/11/2018 - 31/10/2021: Post-Doc at the University of Milan-Bicocca in the frame of the project TAAD (The Ageing in the African Diaspora) – Fondazione Cariplo. Research areas: anthropology of migration, research on ageing trajectories and care practices among the Egyptian diaspora in Milan.

 

Education

1/04/2014 - 15/10/2019: PhD in Ethnologie at BIGSAS (Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies) at the University of Bayreuth (Germany) in co-Tutelle with the University of Milan-Bicocca. Title of the dissertation project: Becoming the ‘Abid: Lives and Social Origins in Southern Tunisia under the supervision of Prof. Georg Klute, University of Bayreuth and Prof. Alice Bellagamba, University of Milan-Bicocca. Scholarship from 1/05/2014 to 31/08/2018 in the research group SWAB (Shadows of Slavery in West Africa and Beyond, ERC Grant 313737) under the direction of Prof. Alice Bellagamba at University of Milan-Bicocca.

10/2008 – 21/11/2012: Master degree in Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences, Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy).

10/2005 - 11/2008: Bachelor Degree in Cultural Heritage, Archeological and Anthropological Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Perugia (Italy). Thesis in Physical Anthropology.
