Aldo Solari is a Professor of Statistics at the Department of Economics at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. He graduated from the University of Padova in 2003 with a degree in Statistics for Demographic and Social Sciences. In 2007, he obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from the same University under the supervision of Prof. Fortunato Pesarin. Beginning his career as a researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2010, Aldo Solari achieved the position of Professor of Statistics in 2020. Until September 2023, he held roles such as Coordinator of the MSc in Statistics and Economics and Director of the Data Science Lab at the University of Milano-Bicocca, subsequently relocating to Venice.

In his research endeavors, Aldo Solari is interested on developing statistical methods that are that are general and well-founded in theory, but at the same time relevant for real data analysis problems. His research is particularly motivated by the methodological challenges arising in the fields of biostatistics, genomics, and neuroscience. In 2012, an article co-authored with Prof. Jelle Goeman was awarded the "Hans van Houwelingen Biometry Award," and in 2020, Aldo Solari received the "Rita Levi Montalcini Award" for a project presented with Prof. Ruth Heller. Over the course of his career, Aldo Solari has undertaken numerous research visits abroad, including stays at the Leiden University Medical Center and Tel Aviv University.
