Roberto Paladini holds a PhD in Territorial Planning and Public Policies from the Università Iuav di Venezia. He is a University Lecturer at the same institution, where he previously taught Business Models & Management and Enterprises and Territory, and currently teaches Material Culture, Innovation and Society. At Ca' Foscari University of Venice, he has been a Subject Expert in Economic Sociology and Sociology of Labour (GSPS-08/A) since 5 May 2025 at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage. He was also a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Management, and taught Advanced Management of Nonprofit Organizations in the international Master's programme (2025).

His research lies within the fields of Economic Sociology and Territorial Studies, examining the role of firms, intermediate organizations, institutions and local communities in processes of territorial development. His main research interests include business associations and intermediate organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), craftsmanship, cultural and creative industries, territorial innovation ecosystems, the transformation of urban and tourism economies, and local development policies.

He is the author of publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as books and book chapters on economic sociology, craftsmanship, social innovation and territorial governance. His research combines qualitative methods, empirical analysis and the study of institutional processes, with particular attention to the dynamics that foster cooperation among economic, institutional and social actors.

Alongside his academic career, he has gained significant professional experience within the Italian system of business representation, serving as Director General and Metropolitan Secretary of CNA Metropolitana di Venezia. In these roles, he promoted and coordinated projects on territorial development, innovation, support for SMEs and the enhancement of craftsmanship, working in close collaboration with public institutions, universities and business organizations.
