Giulia Perosa is a research fellow at the University of Udine, where she is working on a project on poetry and Digital Humanities devoted to Giovanni Giudici and Andrea Zanzotto. She received her PhD from the Universities of Verona and Geneva with a dissertation on Carlo Emilio Gadda, supervised by G. Sandrini and C.E. Roggia. She subsequently held a fellowship at the Fondazione Cini in Venice, a research fellowship at the University of Udine, supervised by S. Contarini, and an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with the project Federigo Tozzi and the Paradigms of the ‘Non-conscious’, supervised by M. Guthmüller.

Since 29 November 2023, she has held the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Professoressa Associata in Letteratura italiana contemporanea (10/F2).

From 2021 to 2023 she taught Letteratura italiana contemporanea in the BA programme in Lettere at the University of Verona and, at the same university, Letteratura, editoria e giornalismo in the MA programme in Editoria e giornalismo in the academic years 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. She has also taught workshops on academic writing and dissertation methodology at the Universities of Verona and Udine, delivered invited lectures at several universities, and supervised BA and MA dissertations as both supervisor and co-supervisor.

Her research interests focus on the works of Gadda, Svevo, Tozzi and Stuparich, with particular attention to philology and the history of ideas. She devoted her first monograph, Gadda e il paesaggio: modi, funzioni, prospettive (Milan, Mimesis, 2023), as well as several journal articles and book chapters, to Gadda. Her second book, Federigo Tozzi e i paradigmi del “non-conscio” (Oxford, Peter Lang, 2025), focuses instead on the dialogue between Tozzi’s work and experimental psychology. She edited Stuparich’s correspondence with his brother (EUT, 2019) and, together with S. Contarini and B. Del Buono, the edition of his prison diary (EUT, 2023). She is also the author of several studies devoted, among others, to Fogazzaro, De Roberto, Svevo, Morante, Calvino, Raboni and Daniela Ranieri. She has edited collective volumes on Svevo, Morante, forms of intermediality and literary representations of the “non-conscious”.

She participates in national and international research groups on Gadda, the novel, and the relationship between literature and psychology. She is a member of the Atelier Pierre Janet and has been part of the interuniversity research group on Carlo Emilio Gadda and of FORLab – LLaboratorio sulle Forme e Origini del Romanzo. She also coordinated the research group responsible for the commentary on Gadda’s Libro delle Furie within the framework of the University of Udine’s “Officina digitale” project.

She is a member of the executive board of the journal «inOpera», of which she is also managing editor, and serves on the editorial board of «Polythesis». She was also a member of the scientific and editorial committee of the monographic issue of «Between» devoted to the forms and metamorphoses of the “non-conscious” before and after Freud.

She has taken part in the organisation of national and international conferences and seminars, including Sovrimpressioni. Tra generi, intermedialità, transmedialità (Verona, 2021), I mondi di Zeno (Trieste, 2023), the seminar Novelle come Fallgeschichten. Tra letteratura e psicologia (Berlin, 2024), and the MOD conference In-Natura. Viventi, paesaggi, ecologie nella modernità letteraria (Pavia, 2026). She has delivered numerous papers at conferences and seminars in Italy and abroad, many of them by invitation.
