PhD in Humanities, Heritage and Cultural Studies (2016, University of Girona, Spain) with a thesis centered on the renowned Catalan poet, editor, and translator Pere Gimferrer, excellent cum laude with international mention (Doctor Europaeus). Previously: Master's Degree in Contemporary Theory and Culture (2003, University of Girona, Spain).

From an interdisciplinary point of view, the research activity of Lídia Carol-Geronès focuses mainly on the following areas: 

  1. Relationship between Literature and Cinema/art
  2. Marginal/peripheral expressions in the context of European (trans)national Mediterranean cultures
  3. The literary representation
    • of Venice (mainly in Castilian and Catalan prose) by writers such as Joan Perucho, Pere Gimferrer, Eduardo Mendoza and Manuel Vilas.
    • of the Spanish Civil War (the soldier writer, exile, censorship, the rearguard) in the peninsular Hispanic Contemporary Literature.
    • of Jewish culture in Contemporary Catalan literature.

Member of the 2023/27 project of excellence of the University of Verona "Inclusive Humanities" in the sub-project “Rappresentazioni dell’alterità, della diversità e della marginalità nelle letterature europee e extraeuropee contemporanee”.
