Francesca Cerulli is a Research Fellow in International Law at the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Florence, where she is currently conducting research on the protection of the interests of future generations under international law.

She holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Florence, with a doctoral thesis on the protection of identity under international law. She also holds, with honours, a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the same University. She has conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg and at the Peace Palace Library in The Hague.

Her research focuses primarily on international human rights law, with particular attention to the protection of individual and collective identity, gender equality, the protection of the environment and future generations, and accountability and reparation for serious human rights violations.
