Samuela Simion is a fixed-term Assistant Professor (RTD-A) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she teaches Medieval and Humanistic Philology. She holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) as Associate Professor in Philologies and Literatures of Medieval Latin and Romance Languages (10/FLMR-01). She previously taught Romance Philology at Ca’ Foscari and the University of Verona. Her research has involved collaborations with the Centro Interuniversitario di Studi Veneti (CISVe), ICoN, and Edizioni Ca’ Foscari. She co-edited the digital edition of Viaggi di Messer Marco Polo by Giovanni Battista Ramusio (Navigationi et viaggi, 1559), and is currently co-directing the Digital Edition of the Devisement dou Monde (DEDM), prepared at Ca’ Foscari in collaboration with Eugenio Burgio and Marina Buzzoni. She is also a collaborator on the international project BIFLOW (Bilingualism in Florentine and Tuscan Works, ca. 1260–ca. 1416, PI: Antonio Montefusco), and conducts her current research within the PNRR-funded project CHANGES (Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Sustainable Society). 

She is an editor of the book series “Filologie medievali e moderne” (Edizioni Ca’ Foscari), and serves on the editorial boards of the journals “Quaderni Veneti” and “TranScript. Traduzione e scrittura nel Medioevo europeo.”
