  • 24/03-31/08/2018: International research project “Responding to Ko Murobushi” supported by Arts Council Tokyo and organised by Ko Murobushi Archive.
  • 22-25/06/2017: International research group “Ko Murobushi Wandering Archive Vol. 2” which carries out the project “Sokushinbutsu to 'soto' no shintai: Murobushi Kō o megutte” (即身仏と〈外〉の 身体―室伏鴻を巡って), a collaboration between Ko Murobushi Archive and Kōeki University (Tōhoku University of Community Service and Science), Sakata. The project includes field work and a symposium on the sokushinbutsu (self-mummified anachorite) and Murobushi’s performativity.
  • 01/04/2016 (09/2015)-31/03/2017: Takes part as Joint Researcher (kyōdō kenkyūin) in research project “Nihon no butaigeijutsu ni okeru shintai: Shi to sei, ningyō to jinkōtai” (日本の舞台芸術における身体― 死と生、人形と人工体) (The Body in Japanese Performing Arts: Death and life, dolls and artificial bodies) led by Prof. Bonaventura Ruperti, at NICHIBUNKEN, International Research Center for Japanese Studies (Kyōto). Proposed project title: “Hijiikata Tatsumi no nikutairon: Shitai kara shuppatsusuru koto” (土方巽の肉体論―死体から出発すること) (The theory on the nikutai in Hijikata Tatsumi: Starting from the dead body).

  • 21/01-09/03/2010: Participates in the study project on Hijikata Tatsumi’s text “Yameru Maihime” (病める舞姫) (The ailing dancer) organised by the Hijikata Tatsumi Archive (Keiō University) in collaboration with the theatre company Gekidan 1980 on the occasion of Hijikata’s birth anniversary. This study is in preparation for “‘Yameru maihime’ o akitaben de rōdoku suru: Yoneyama Kunio shōnen ni sasagu” (「病める舞姫」を秋田弁で朗読する―米山九日生少年に捧ぐ), reading-performance in Akita dialect of “Yameru Maihime”, with the participation of Yamaya Hatsuo (Theatre Zamuza, Asagaya, 9 March). Takes part in the previous study trip (supported by Hijikata Tatsumi Archive) to Kakunodate and Akita with Morishita Takashi and Gala Motofuji (Hijikata’s daughter), aimed at rethinking Hijikata’s history and apprehending the dialect of the region for the practice of reading.

At the same time, carries out research at Waseda University (Tsubouchi Shōyō Memorial Theatre Museum) as tokubetsu kenkyūsei (特別研究生) of the 21st Century COE Programme.
  • 01/04/2003–31/03/2004: Joins the 21st Century Centre of Excellence (COE) Programme as Special Research Student (tokubetsu kenkyūsei) (特別研究生) at Tsubouchi Shōyō Memorial Theatre Museum, Waseda University with Prof. Takemoto Mikio (Course: Traditional Japanese Theatre Studies: Noh and Kyogen). Proposed project title:“Nōkyōgen no tekisuto-engi ni okeru karada” (能狂言のテキスト・演技におけるのからだ) (The body in the texts and enactment of nō and kyōgen). Takes also part in the nō seminars (世阿弥研究会) led by Prof. Takemoto Mikio, in which Zeami’s texts are philologically examined (attends the seminars until 2011).

Dance Education and Training (brief profile)

  • Since 1975: Studies dance (classical, jazz, modern, contemporary) at several schools in Germany (Monica Huerzeler) and Italy (Grazia Miglietta, Annamaria de Filippi) participating in numerous workshops held by masters, such as Carlo Faraboni, Matt Mattox, Gianin Loringett, Dominique Mercy, Larrio Ekson, Bob Curtis, Roberta Escamilla Garrison, Antonio Carallo and others.
  • 8-10/09/1989: Takes part with the dance company of Annamaria de Filippi (Elektra Ballet) in “Serate di Danza” at Teatro Storchi (Modena) presenting “Tresca”, awarded the first prize for choreography.
  • 21/08/1993: Choreographs with Grazia Perrone and performs in "In Memoria di Paolo Borsellino" for and with Associazione Culturale "Big Sur", at Cantieri Teatrali Koreja, Aradeo (Lecce).
  • Since 1995: Starts taking butō lessons (Ōno Kazuo, Ōno Yoshito, Murobushi Kō, Waguri Yukio, Iwana Masaki, etc.). While working as an interpreter for the Japanese masters, she takes actively part in the workshops.
