Research interests

Ecology and ecotoxicology of aquatic ecosystems.

Main research fields

  1. Bioaccumulation of priority and emerging contaminants in primary producers (seagrasses and seaweeds), aquatic vertebrates (birds and fish) and terrestrial vertebrates (foxes).
  2. Effects of emerging contaminants (pesticides, drugs, fragrances and UV filters) in benthic and planktonic crustaceans of estuarine and coastal ecosystems.
  3. Ecology and trophic ecology of larids (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus, Chroicocephalus ridibundus, Thalasseus sandvicensis) and waders (Charadrius alexandrinus) nesting in the humid areas of the North Adriatic.
  4. Ecology of amphipods and copepods
