Double Degree with Higher School of Economics - Moscow

The double degree agreement with HSE Moscow is not yet finalized and departures in the a.y. 2021/22 will be guaranteed upon the signature of the agreement.

The Double Degree programme jointly realized by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice - Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies (DSLCC) and the Higher School of Economics - Moscow offers the opportunity to take part in an international study path and to spend a semester at the partner University.

At the end of the study path, upon completion of all the exams and the thesis defense, students will receive a double degree:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Scienze del Linguaggio from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice;
  • Master in Russian as a Foreign Language in Cross-Linguistic and Cross-Cultural Perspective from the Higher School of Economics - Moscow.

Admission requirements

The programme is reserved for students in possession of the admission requirements for the master’s degree in Language Sciences of Ca’ Foscari University.

Students shall have a good level of Russian language proficiency (B2).

How to apply

To be able to participate in the selection process, it is necessary to apply following the procedures and deadlines reported in the call for applications, published annually.

Double/joint degree selection results will be published on this webpage according to the specific timeline mentioned in the Annex A.

Outcomes

Study period abroad

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Counseling and Welcome Unit for information about the procedures to carry out before, during and after the mobility period, taking place in the first semester of the second academic year.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students will be required to submit a Learning Agreement, listing all the academic activities they are planning to take abroad, which will be recognized in their study plan after the completion of the mobility.

In order to receive the double degree, students must obtain at least 30 ECTS during the mobility.

Graduation

In order to submint the request to graduate, students must follow the standard procedure for all Ca’ Foscari students.

The final thesis shall be written under co-supervision of Professors of both Universities in Italian, Russian or English with a summary (avtopeferat) in Russian.

After the thesis discussion, it will be possible to start the procedure to request the diploma of the partner University. Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.

Final thesis

The topic of the final thesis has to be agreed with the supervisor, namely a Ca’ Foscari Professor. Besides the Ca’ Foscari supervisor there will be an external co-supervisor from the partner University. The co-supervisor will provide a report and evaluation to the Commitee.

In order to find the co-supervisor and get further information about procedures and typology of final thesis, students are suggested to contact the coordinator of the programme, Dr. Pavel Duryagin, well in advance.
