Actions for Neurohumanities

Venice Actions for Neurohumanities represent an opportunity for applying new cognitive monitoring technologies to the field of both material and immaterial cultural heritage.

The actions we are taking, aim at a third mission towards the non-academic world as well as the technological transfer to local institutions and businesses.

The purpose is to provide consultancy for the development of cross-cutting skills and social growth of the territory, even creating personalized experiences for the enjoyment of cultural heritage.

Embarking on the forefront of Digital Humanities, our initiative is designed to be a dynamic workspace for innovative research, seamlessly integrating technology with cultural heritage. What sets us apart is our direct connection with customized instruments, ensuring a tailored approach to each project's unique needs. At the core of our mission is a focus on neuro-humanistic endeavors, using the state-of-the-art cognitive monitoring technologies to explore tangible and intangible cultural legacies with cutting-edge technology. The initiative serves as an incubator for project-oriented initiatives, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, hands-on digitization, and the exchange of best practices within the Digital Humanities landscape. In this collaborative space, innovation meets tradition, shaping the future of Digital Humanities through a lens that is both technological and profoundly human.

We employ cognitive activity monitoring tools and innovative visualization strategies, emphasizing multidisciplinary expertise in the realm of neuroscience applied to cultural assets. Additionally, it aims to pay particular attention to issues concerning the enjoyment of cultural heritage by individuals requiring assistive technologies.

The initiative aims to function as a network that:

  • Builds effective relationships between businesses, institutions, and the world of scientific research within the domain of Applied Neurohumanities concerning cultural heritage to support the development of impactful applied research applications;
  • Use cognitive activity monitoring tools and innovative visualization strategies;
  • Values the multidisciplinary skills of the University in the field of neuroscience applied to cultural assets;
  • Provides new training for specialized personnel, for instance, through direct training schools aimed at businesses, to proliferate new skills in the region and enhance social impact through novel forms of accessibility.

This initiative aims at training activities and technological transfer, promoting and designing innovative actions of technical assistance and/or third-party services aimed at companies and cultural organizations interested in neuroscience to enhance the progression of their services, particularly:

  • Data collection for the creation of datasets.
  • Assistance to companies in participating in national and international funding opportunities.
  • Training for companies and individuals.
  • Training schools.
  • Dissemination and promotion of research.
