The Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) is part of the Department of Humanities of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. It supports the development, accessibility and dissemination of research and teaching in the Digital (DH) and Public Humanities (PH) by facilitating exchange and coordination between existing experiences and by inspiring new projects.

Maratona Digital Humanities

The VeDPH is glad to announce the MaratonaDH. The Digital Humanities in the Departments of 'Eccellenza' 2018-2022. The Congress is open to the general public. It will take place from October 10th to 14th, 2022 in Verona, Bergamo, Modena, Venice and Udine. It will be held in presence and online. Read the full programme!

Master Programme in Digital and Public Humanities a.y. 2022/23

Ca' Foscari's Master Programme in Digital and Public Humanities is open for enrolment from 1st July 2022! The programme combines teaching in traditional humanities fields such as literary studies, history, art history and archaeology in connection with digital media and methods from computer science. A special focus is given to research and communication with and in the public sphere. Practices of the digital transformation of society and cultural heritage are studied in relation to social identity, cultural landscapes and communities. Toward a Sustainable Attitude

Together with NYU Tandon and Universität Bern, on October 6-8, 2022, Ca’ Foscari hosts the international conference “Toward a Sustainable Attitude: Aesthetics, the Arts, and the Environment”. The conference investigates sustainability challenges from a philosophical and artistic perspective. The conference is based on the fieldwork done in art and sustainability at Ca’ Foscari in the last eight years, especially through the Sustainable Art Prize founded by Sustainable Ca’ Foscari at the art fair of ArtVerona and its subsequent public art projects developed in Venice. The conference is organised and funded by Ca’ Foscari’s Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities at the Department of Humanities, Sustainable Ca’ Foscari and the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage.
