The first edition of “Kings of San Giobbe”, the 3x3 basketball tournament that revitalised the urban area around the San Giobbe university campus, was met with great enthusiasm. The initiative, organised by Umana Reyer, the Department of Economics and Ca’ Foscari’s Venice School of Management, was an important occasion for the student community to come together.

For over four hours, the courtyard in Calle delle Beccarie in San Giobbe became the centre of sport, music, and entertainment, involving hundreds of students. The event successfully combined the competitive spirit of sport with socialising moments, offering the community a unique opportunity to gather in a city space right beside the university buildings.

Eight teams took part in the tournament – Bosgatass, Piru’s Friend, Spaghetti e Baguette, Tripla G, Boys, San Antonio Spritz, Atletico ma non Troppo, and Ciano Team. The crowd also loved the “KO” shooting contest – a lively knockout game that got everyone involved.

The contributions of Anna Comacchio, Director of the Venice School of Management, and Francesco Pappadà, a lecturer in the Department of Economics, underscored the institutional significance of the initiative and demonstrated the strong relationship and collaboration between the involved organisations.

The title of the inaugural “Kings of San Giobbe” was awarded to team Bosgatass, composed of Eugenio Boscariol, Luca Galasso and Marcello Tassini.

This historic first event showcased how sport can unite people, confirming the successful partnership between Umana Reyer and Ca’ Foscari’s departments—a collaboration poised to expand further.
