We are delighted to invite you to the Venice Network Workshop, taking place September 25th-26th, 2025, at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, funded through a grant sponsored by the European Union Next-GenerationEU - National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The goal of the workshop is to bring together outstanding researchers in the field of network theory, to present their work and foster collaborations. The focus will be papers at the forefront of economic and social network research, both empirical and theoretical. Papers in all areas of network research are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Call for papers

We are pleased to invite you to submit a paper for this workshop, which will cover network-related topics in economics, both theoretical and applied work.
In order to submit your paper, please send it via e-mail to vnw2025@unive.it.

  • Deadline for submissions: postponed May 7th, 2025
  • Notification to authors: by May 31st, 2025

Partial funding for travel may be available but still needs to be confirmed. We will be able to update you on this before the workshop. In case, younger scholars will have priority.

The conference will be held in Meeting Room 1 at San Giobbe Economics Campus, Cannaregio 873, Venice.

Getting to Venice by plane

Arrival at "Marco Polo" airport in Venice (VCE)

From the airport you can reach Mestre or Venice (Piazzale Roma) by land (on a bus or taxi) or take the water route to Venice (Alilaguna boat or water taxi).

From the airport you can reach Mestre or Venice (Piazzale Roma) by land (on a bus, train or taxi)

Getting to Venice by train

The Venice railway station is “Venezia Santa Lucia”. The main train companies in Italy are Trenitalia and Italo. You can purchase the tickets at the train station or online, directly from the relevant websites.

Accommodation

There are a variety of accommodations available both on the island of Venice and Mestre, although it is recommended to book early.
