The School for International Education offers Italian language courses and courses on Italian history and culture taught in English that are specifically designed for Exchange students officially enrolled in a student exchange at Ca' Foscari University.

Each course awards 6 CFU/ECTS that students add to their Learning Agreement.

These courses are only available to eligible students, and follow a specific registration procedure that is shared with students by email in July (for the first semester) and in December (for the second semester). Students cannot attend classes or take exams if they are not officially enrolled in the course.

Eligible students
  • Erasmus+, Overseas and other interuniversity exchange students
  • Double and Joint Degree students

Students regularly enrolled at Ca' Foscari can also attend these courses, provided that receive prior authorisation from the Teaching committee of their degree programme (collegio didattico).

Students can apply for Italian language courses at the levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Courses include 30 hours of sociolinguistic, structural, cultural and historical aspects of the Italian language, in line with the language level of the course, and 50 hours of language practice (grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing).
