Summer School features
Who is it for? This in-person programme lasts approximately 4 weeks and is designed for international students, researchers, and professionals. It is also the perfect choice for lovers of Italian language and culture who want to improve their skills quickly while living a full, immersive experience in the heart of Venice.
Schedule and format
- Dates: July 6 – July 31, 2026 (4 weeks).
- Format: in-person intensive lessons.
- Weekly Schedule: Monday through Thursday.
- Fridays: cultural outings in the city with your teacher.
- Enrollment period: from May 4th to May 29th, 2026.
Levels and organization: you may enroll and pay for one level only.
- Range: A1 to B2 (CEFR).
- Study load:
- A1 & A2: 50 hours of intensive study + final test
- B1 & B2: 70 hours of intensive study + final test
- Certification: certificate of attendance and achievement, Open Badge.
- Important:
- no university credits (CFU) awarded
- does not replace courses for exchange students
- activation depends on minimum participant numbers
Cultural outings: every Friday, 2-hour guided tours offer the chance to practice Italian while exploring Venice. Examples of activities include:
- Rialto: the fish market. A visit to the sites of the city's oldest market and the iconic bridge concluding with a panoramic visit to the Fondaco dei Tedeschi terrace;
- Le fondamenta delle Zattere. A walk to discover the hidden places of Dorsoduro;
- Castello, the real Venice where the residents remain.

Enrolment
The enrollment for Summer School in Italian Language and Culture is open from May 4 to May 29, 2026.
To enrol in the Summer School in Italian Language and Culture, please complete the form (available from May 4, 2026) and carefully read the required enrollment data. It is very important to provide your exact residential address, including street, civic number, postal code, and country of residence, and to attach your passport and a passport photo.
Anyone enrolling must indicate their category of affiliation to allow us to apply the appropriate fee. It is also necessary to upload a document that certifies the category of affiliation.
Anyone who intends to enroll in a level higher than A1 must present a certificate of Italian language proficiency from the previous level. The certificate must be one of CILS, PLIDA, CELI, or ROMA TRE; otherwise, it is necessary to take a placement test, instructions for which will be provided subsequently.

Fees
Fee structure - 2025/2026 Academic Year
- A1 (50 hours): full rate € 400 / reduced rate* € 360
- A2 (50 hours): full rate € 400 / reduced rate* € 360
- B1 (70 hours): full rate € 560 / reduced rate* € 504
- B2 (70 hours): full rate € 560 / reduced rate* € 504
Full rate:
- all external users who do not fall into the categories listed below (including students who graduated from Ca' Foscari more than six months ago)
*Reduced rate:
- students of every level enrolled at Ca’ Foscari and up-to-date with the payment of university fees
- students from foreign Universities participating in exchange programmes with Ca’ Foscari University (Erasmus, Overseas, Double/Joint Degree, Erasmus Mundus)
- professors, researchers, scholarship holders, and research fellows at Ca'Foscari (for these user types, course enrollment fees are covered by the University)
- technical-administrative and CEL staff of Ca' Foscari (for these user types, course enrollment fees are covered by the University)
- PhD students at Ca' Foscari
- students from Italian partner university institutions (e.g., IUAV, Accademia, Conservatorio, etc.) and foreign ones (including visiting students)
- students who graduated from Ca' Foscari within six months of graduation
- faculty, researchers, visiting professors, and visiting staff from other partner university institutions (Italian and foreign)
- external users of Ca’ Foscari who have previously attended an Italian course at the CFSIE or C.L.A. (not repeat attendees)
- high school students from the age of 16

Payment
Payment must be made only after receiving the course activation confirmation email from the secretariat and must be completed by a deadline that will be communicated to you via email along with the link for payment. Please send the payment receipt via email to cfsie@unive.it.
Refunds
Course reimbursement is granted only in the event of the course being cancelled or due to the participant's objective and documented impossibility to attend. In this case, documents must be submitted within the first week from the start of lessons.

Some residences may offer discounts to students participating in our Summer School. We advise you to contact them directly to inquire about availability and costs.
