Stéphanie Novak è professoressa ordinaria di scienza politica e direttrice del Center for Comparative International Studies in Venice (CIS, https://www.unive.it/pag/19266/). Prima di lavorare a Ca’ Foscari è stata professoressa associata all’università cattolica di Lille, ricercatrice alla Hertie School of Governance (Berlino) e all’Istituto Universitario Europeo (Firenze), assistente di ricerca al Collège de France (Parigi) e Arthur Sachs visiting fellow alla Graduate School of Arts and Sciences dell’università di Harvard. Ha ottenuto un dottorato di scienza politica a Sciences Po Paris nel 2009. È alumna della Scuola Normale Superiore (Parigi) e dell’università Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, dove si è laureata in filosofia, ed è agrégée di filosofia. La sua ricerca si concentra sulle istituzioni europee, la trasparenza, l’accountability, la decisione collettiva e i negoziati internazionali. La sua tesi di dottorato ha vinto il premio Dalloz-Bibliothèque de thèses ed è stata pubblicata da Dalloz (Parigi) nel 2011 (La prise de décision au Conseil de l’Union européenne: Pratiques du vote et du consensus). Ha anche pubblicato i risultati della sua ricerca in riviste come Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of European Public Policy, Global Policy, Journal of European Integration, o Politique européenne e ha curato un volume collettivo sul principio di maggioranza con il prof. Jon Elster (Majority Decisions: Principles and Practices, Cambridge University Press, New York, 2014).
