Particular attention will be paid to the question of the rediscovery of the classics (from Valla to the controversy between Neo-Classicism and Romanticism), to the history of language (from Bembo to Manzoni), to artistic literature (from Vasari to Longhi), to political prose (Machiavelli), to the poem and the historical novel (from Boiardo to Manzoni).
