The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest is postponed to October 11th

Following the message from the Rector on October 1st and out of respect for the tragedy that has struck our community, we are postponing the San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest to October 11th, from 7.30 p.m.

'The Cooling Solution' lands in New York City at the Photoville Festival

After the success of its installments in Venice in 2023, the photographic and scientific exhibition The Cooling Solution is now crossing the Atlantic to land in New York City at the Photoville Festival, from June 1st till 16th, 2024. In September 2024 the exhibition will also be on show at the Italian Cultural Institute in London.

Ca' Foscari inaugurates "Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert"

Four works by Kandinsky are also among the approximately 100 on display at Ca' Foscari - thanks to the new project curated by Giuseppe Barbieri and Silvia Burini with the support of the Uzbekistan Culture Foundation, which introduces an extraordinary and still little-known chapter of the art of the first half of the 20th century. 

The Lithuanian ‘Closer’ wins Ca' Foscari’s Short Film Festival

The Lithuanian short film Artumo jausmas (Closer) directed by Augustė Gerikaitė won the International Competition of the 14th Ca' Foscari Short Film Festival, held in various Venetian venues. Ca' Foscari University was the principal organiser of the festival and received support from Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel, WeShort and Carpenè-Malvolti.

The photo exhibition 'Scarti Scelti' opens in Yangzhou

Until 12 March 2024, the prestigious Marco Polo Memorial Hall in Yangzhou (China) will host a selection of professor Riccardo Zipoli's photos - 24 out of the original fifty 'selected discards' - that made up the original exhibition at Ca’ Foscari Zattere in 2019.

Academic Year inaugurates on 16/02. Lectio Magistralis by Nicola Di Cosmo

Save the date for Friday, February 16, 2024, for the Inaugural ceremony of the Academic Year at Ca’ Foscari, starting at 11:00 am at the Teatro Stabile del Veneto Carlo Goldoni. The complete programme is online. The ceremony will be live streamed on Youcafoscari channel.

Exhibition on shamans opens in Trento. Stefano Beggiora scientific director

The exhibition Shamans. Communicating with the invisible opened on 16 December at MUSE, Science Museum of Trento. It showcases for the first time a rare selection of objects belonging to the Sergio Poggianella Foundation, and takes us into the complex story of shamanism with exhibits coming from China, Siberia and Mongolia.

Special event to commemorate prof. Marco Ceresa on 2 December

On Saturday 2 December, in the Auditorium Santa Margherita - Emanuele Severino and starting at 2 p.m., Ca' Foscari commemorates with a special event Prof. Marco Ceresa, a distinguished sinologist and former director of the Department of Asian and North African Studies, who passed away in the night between 3 and 4 May 2023.

Learning how to 'fail brilliantly' with Professor Paul Iske

Are we allowed to fail? Do we know how to take risks and accept outcomes different from the expected ones? And what is the impact of culture on how we perceive failure? Professor Paul Iske, founder and director of the 'Institute of Brilliant Failures' addressed all these questions and more in his lecture "Brilliant Failure: Working, Failing, and Learning Together”, organized by the Ca' Foscari International College.
