Pop Up @Port Days is an opportunity for emerging musicians to showcase their talent that will be held on 7 October 2022 on a stage set up in San Basilio, on the Venetian waterfront. The second edition of this festival features the collaboration between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and North Adriatic Sea Port Authority (ports of Venice and Chioggia).
Three student music projects will be presented — two bands and a soloist. They have been selected by the team of Radio Ca’ Foscari among the many applications that were received. Although these artists differ from each other, they also have one thing in common: they are all students at a Venetian university.
Pop Up @ Port Days will be held in San Basilio, between Magazzino 5 and Magazzino 6, close to the classrooms of Ca’ Foscari and IUAV. Participation is free of charge. The event will help inaugurate the new academic year and showcase the musical talent of the student community.
In addition to the live performances, the event will feature two DJ sets by Radio Ca’ Foscari — who is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary — and Hard Rock Cafe Venezia.
Pop Up @ Port Days will also feature the inauguration of Port Days 2022, a series of initiatives open to the general public that aim to give greater visibility to the waterfront area.

About the musicians
Fosca
Fosca is a project based on songs by Erich Kuehl, who is accompanied by Davide Bristot (an arranger and guitar player) and Damiano Casol (a producer and multi-instrumentalist). Fosca’s music is influenced by ambient songwriting, noise rock, and contemporary folk. The outcome of these influences is “Altrove”, an introspective record that will be released in 2023.
Dopamina
Dopamina started out in 2020 as a cover band, but then started to create original compositions that are sometimes ironic, sometimes thoughtful, with Italian lyrics and a genre that varies from punk-rock to funky.
They are working on their first EP that will be released in autumn 2022.
Mathias Mari
Mathias Mari is a songwriter from Orvieto who performs as a singer and acoustic guitar player. His signing and his playing create a personal, intimate atmosphere. Through his music, the artist tries to convey the intensity of the emotions he feels on the stage.
