350 Million Voices Sharing One Root: A Journey into Bantu Languages with Prof. Félix Tembe

In the lecture halls of Ca’ Foscari, people are talking about kiSwahili, xiChangana and isiZulu: sounds and words that tell stories, identities and world views. Guiding this journey is Professor Félix Filimone Tembe, a lecturer in Bantu Linguistics at the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Maputo, who over the past few weeks has held at Ca’ Foscari the first introductory course dedicated to the great family of Bantu languages.

From Gaza to Venice, Ca' Foscari Welcomes Two Palestinian Visiting Scholars

The war has inflicted a severe blow on academic life in Gaza, with systematic attacks on Palestinian educational institutions, starting with the universities. Two lecturers from Al-Aqsa University – now destroyed by Israeli airstrikes – were able to reach Venice for a period of research and teaching: Alaedin Alsayed, Associate Professor of Human Resource Management, and Mahmoud Abu Aisha, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, are now Visiting Scholars in the Department of Asian and North African Studies.

A Greener Future for Denim: Ca’ Foscari Wins Its First EIC Grant with GREENDIGO

With the project “Biosolutions for Denim Dyeing within the Planetary Boundaries” (GREENDIGO), Ca’ Foscari University has secured its first grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC), the third pillar of the EU’s Horizon Europe research funding programme.

8 December: Campus closure and special library openings

Ca’ Foscari University buildings will be closed on Monday 8 December 2025 for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. 
The University libraries will also be closed, with the exception of CFZ and BAUM, which will open according to the following schedule: CFZ – 2:00 p.m- 12:00 Midnight, BAUM – 09:00–9:00 p.m.

Ca’ Foscari Co-Directs Excavations in Tunisia and Throws New Light on the Second-Largest Roman Olive Mill in the Empire

The excavations, focused on the area of ancient Roman Cillium, on the border with present-day Algeria, concentrate on imposing structures linked to oil production, including two torcularia, olive pressing facilities, one of which has been identified as the second largest Roman oil mill in the entire Empire.

With the arrival of Professor Marta Tawil Kuri, an expert in international relations and lecturer at El Colegio de México (Colmex), the Mexico Chair [ESP] is officially inaugurated — a result of an agreement signed last spring between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Colmex, one of Latin America’s most prestigious research centres.
