QS Europe: Ca' Foscari scores top results for outbound student mobility

Ca' Foscari University of Venice ranks fourth in Europe and first among Italian universities for outbound exchange students in the new 2024 QS Europe University Rankings.

The new data, which is linked to the QS World University Rankings, one of the most influential surveys of its kind, compares institutions from member states of the Council of Europe, as they have similar and therefore more easily comparable characteristics. A total of 690 European institutions (52 Italian) were considered for the survey this year. 

Ca' Foscari's result is also the best result among Italian universities for one of the indicators; in fact, no other Italian university has achieved such a high ranking in Europe in one of the indicators considered.

This year’s results confirm our university’s achievements: over the last few years we have clearly become increasingly international, and are now able to offer our students a growing number of opportunities of spending time abroad, which is an essential part of their careers.

In the overall ranking, Ca' Foscari is 227th in Europe and 17th in Italy. A further positive outcome is our ranking 56th in Europe for inbound exchange students.

Rector Tiziana Lippiello says: "The outcome in the QS Europe University Rankings confirms the steady growth of Ca' Foscari’s international standing," she says. "At global level, in the most recent QS World University Ranking Ca' Foscari is the second university in Italy for growth rate, climbing hundreds of positions. Internationality has always been Ca' Foscari's special hallmark: we signed more than 500 student mobility agreements and set up 30 double and joint degrees with universities all over the world. The number of international faculty and students choosing Ca’ Foscari and Venice for work and study is also increasing. We have been open to the world since the very start."
