In order to allow all graduates to receive their diplomas, and in accordance with the mandatory regulations, two different ceremonies will be organised on Thursday 18, according to the following programmes.

  • 11:20 am Awarding of diplomas and announcement of graduates
  • 12:00 am Approximate end time of the ceremony

Wednesday 4 May 2022, 4:00 pm

  • 4:00 pm Greetings from Rector Tiziana Lippiello, greetings from the authorities
  • 4:20 pm Awarding of diplomas and announcement of graduates
  • 5:00 pm Approximate end time of the ceremony

The stops nearest to St. Mark's Square are:

  • San Marco Vallaresso/Giardinetti (Lines 1, 2, 2/, 10)
  • San Zaccaria (Lines 1, 2, 4.1, 4.2, 5.2, 7, 14, 15, 20)
  • Rialto (Lines 1, 1/, 2, 2/) 10 minutes on foot

Provisions for access

Access to the Square and to the area dedicated to the ceremony will be subject to compliance with the rules and regulations in force. In particular, graduates must enter the Square with a maximum of two guests who will be given a place to sit in the guest area.

A few days before the event, graduates will have to communicate the names of their guests.

The entrances will be open 45 minutes before the starting time. Access to the reserved area will be allowed up to 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

In order to avoid crowding and ensure that sufficient distance is maintained between graduates, admissions and exits will be staggered, and access and exit lanes will be duly marked.

Access will be granted only to those in possession of the following documents:

  • electronic ticket and identity document
  • COVID-19 Green Pass certification

Said documents must be shown on admission.

In addition, graduates must:

  • wear a surgical mask;
  • maintain the required safety distance;
  • sanitise hands frequently;
  • avoid any contact between people;
  • observe the instructions of the staff in charge.

The situation may change depending on the measures that will be divulged by the Italian government after 1 May. Please check this page for further updates.

The staff inside and outside the reserved area will ensure compliance with the regulations in force and the protocol adopted for the event.

The nearest public toilets, which can be used for a fee, are managed by the company Veritas and are located behind the Correr Museum.

Please note that the time spent in the Square, given the duration of the ceremony and the procedures for entering and exiting the area, will be approximately three hours. Please also note that the ceremony will take place outdoors and could thus be affected by weather conditions: therefore, we invite you to take the necessary precautions.

Who can attend

All Bachelor graduates from the 2020/2021 extraordinary graduation session are invited to attend.

Access will only be granted to the graduates and their guests (with a maximum two guests per graduate), provided that they have correctly completed the booking process.

Given the exceptional nature of the location in which the ceremony will be held, and in view of the epidemiological situation, the area reserved for participants will be limited, and the number of seats will be restricted for reasons of safety and accessibility. Only graduates who have made a reservation may attend the ceremony.

Each graduate will be able to choose, subject to availability, which ceremony to attend. Once a reservation has been made, no changes can be requested.

The procedure will be open from Friday 8 April until Wednesday 20 April at 12 pm.

The ceremony in the Square must take place in accordance with the specific rules and conditions set out above and subscribed to by each graduate for the protection of all. Each graduate is thus requested to follow the instructions received as well as what will be communicated during the ceremony, thereby refraining from any celebrations in the Square or in the streets of the city.

Please note that the following is also forbidden:

  • Bringing in suitcases, trolleys, bags and bulky backpacks that could obstruct the access and exit routes
  • Bringing in aerosol cans, stadium horns and smoke bombs
  • Bringing in drinks in glass bottles or eating food
  • Bringing in pets of any kind or size
  • Smoking
