Phaidra

Contacts

Phaidra, an acronym for Permanent Hosting, Archiving and Indexing of Digital Resources and Assets, is an archiving platform for digital objects developed by the University of Vienna and managed by the University of Padua, joined by Ca' Foscari University of Venice and the IUAV University of Venice. It enables the use of rare documents or documents of special historical, artistic, cultural or academic interest that would otherwise be difficult to access.

Through Phaidra, the University Library System aims at creating an open-access digital archive for the perpetual preservation of historical, scientific and educational documents concerning Ca' Foscari University of Venice, from its origins to the present day.
Digitisation projects of resources of various kinds (monographs, periodicals, photographs, audio/video...) envisage the creation of digital collections aimed at a broader use of the documentary funds.
Phaidra currently hosts materials from the University's libraries, departments, centres and historical archives, as well as Edizioni Ca' Foscari publications.

In addition to the featured collections present on the Phaidra homepage and in the menu All collections (by selecting Ca' Foscari Venezia), there are several other collections that can be searched using the most common search engines by adding the specification “Phaidra” (e.g. Balboni Phaidra) or using the search mask on the Phaidra homepage by entering keywords (e.g. Census).

Consult the help page, which, in addition to general information on the platform, also contains printable guides.
