The Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) is part of the Department of Humanities of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. It supports the development, accessibility and dissemination of research and teaching in the Digital (DH) and Public Humanities (PH) by facilitating exchange and coordination between existing experiences and by inspiring new projects.

VeDPH Seminars in Digital and Public Humanities

The Digital and Public Humanities seminar series is organised by the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) at the Department of Humanities of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. The seminars take place in person at Ca’ Foscari University and can be attended either on site or online. Delivered in English, the events are open to everyone and free of charge.

We are pleased to present Davide Pace in Lomellina, a study day dedicated to Davide Pace (1907–1996), who served as an Honorary Inspector for Antiquities in Lombardy and played a fundamental role in documenting and safeguarding the archaeological heritage of Lomellina. The outcomes of the Dicolab. Cultura al digitale project, including the reorganisation, description and digitisation of the Davide Pace archival fonds, the reconstruction of connections between archival documentation and museum collections, and the development of digital tools for cultural heritage communication.

VeDPH Welcomes Visiting Scholars Fabrizio Nevola and James Coleman

The Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice is pleased to welcome Fabrizio Nevola and James Coleman as Visiting Scholars during the spring semester of 2026. Both scholars are recipients of a Giles Constable Award from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, supporting research projects focused on the culture and history of the Italian Renaissance.

Venice Summer School in Digital and Public Humanities

The VeDPH is ready for the Venice Summer School in Digital and Public Humanities (from 6-10 July 2026). The Summer School aims at providing advanced and in-depth training to students and scholars in theories, technologies and methods applied to historical monuments, artifacts and texts in the interdisciplinary field of Digital and Public Humanities, focussing on cultural, archaeological, historical, literary, and artistic materials from Venetian sites and cultural heritage institutions.
