Who is it for: the online program is designed for prospective students who need to reach B1 or B2 proficiency before the academic year begins, as well as international professionals seeking high-quality language training with the flexibility of remote learning. It is also ideal for language learners who wish to advance their skills quickly through a structured and intensive summer experience.
Schedule and format:
- dates: June - September 2026.
- format: 100% online.
- structure: intensive daily lessons, digital activities, and continuous assessment.
Levels and organization: You may enroll and pay for one level at a time; passing one level unlocks the next.
- range: A1 to B2 (CEFR).
- study Load:
- A1 and A2: 50 hours of intensive study + final test.
- B1 and B2: 70 hours of intensive study + final test.
- certification: Certificate of attendance and achievement.
- important:
- no university credits (CFU) awarded.
- does not replace courses for exchange students.
- activation depends on minimum participant numbers.
Cultural Activities: every Friday, 2 hours are dedicated to online activities focused on Italian culture. These sessions are tailored to the students' language proficiency:
- A1-A2 (beginner): interactive virtual tours of iconic Venetian landmarks, workshops on Italian lifestyle and daily traditions, and introductory sessions on Italian music and food culture.
- B1-B2 (intermediate): discussion groups on contemporary Italian cinema and literature, virtual visits to museum collections with deep-dives into art history, and role-playing activities based on real-life Italian cultural scenarios.

Enrolment
The enrollment for Online Italian Language Summer Programme is open from April 15th 2026 to May 4th 2026
To enrol, please complete the form (available from April 15th, 2026) and carefully read the required enrollment data. It is very important to provide your exact residential address, including street, civic number, postal code, and country of residence, and to attach your passport and a passport photo.
Anyone enrolling must indicate their category of affiliation to allow us to apply the appropriate fee. It is also necessary to upload a document that certifies the category of affiliation.
Select your desired level (A1, A2, B1, or B2) at the time of registration.
Pay-as-you-go. Once you pass your current module, you will receive instructions for the next.
If you decide to start at a level higher than A1, you must submit one of the internationally recognized language certificates for the previous level (e.g., CILS, PLIDA, CELI, or ROMA TRE) or alternatively sit a placement test, for which further instructions will be provided in due course.
Fees
- A1 (50 hours): full rate € 400 / partially reduced rate* € 360 / reduced rate** € 320
- A2 (50 hours): full rate € 400 / partially reduced rate* € 360 / reduced rate** € 320
- B1 (70 hours): full rate € 560 / partially reduced rate* € 504 / reduced rate** € 448
- B2 (70 hours): full rate € 560 / partially reduced rate* € 504 / reduced rate** € 448
Full rate:
- all external users who do not fall into the categories listed below (including students who graduated from Ca' Foscari more than six months ago)
*Partially reduced rate:
- students of every level enrolled at Ca’ Foscari and up-to-date with the payment of university fees
- students from foreign Universities participating in exchange programmes with Ca’ Foscari University (Erasmus, Overseas, Double/Joint Degree, Erasmus Mundus)
- professors, researchers, scholarship holders, and research fellows at Ca'Foscari (for these user types, course enrollment fees are covered by the University)
- technical-administrative and CEL staff of Ca' Foscari (for these user types, course enrollment fees are covered by the University)
- PhD students at Ca' Foscari
- students from Italian partner university institutions (e.g., IUAV, Accademia, Conservatorio, etc.) and foreign ones (including visiting students)
- students who graduated from Ca' Foscari within six months of graduation
- Faculty, researchers, visiting professors, and visiting staff from other partner university institutions (Italian and foreign)
**Reduced rate:
- students enrolled in this session moving to the next level
Payment
Payment must be made only after receiving the course activation confirmation email from the secretariat and must be completed by a deadline that will be communicated to you via email along with the link for payment. Please send the payment receipt via email to cfsie@unive.it.
Refunds
Course reimbursement is granted only in the event of the course being cancelled or due to the participant's objective and documented impossibility to attend. In this case, documents must be submitted within the first week from the start of lessons.
Certification
Students who successfully pass the final assessments will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
Please note: This certificate is valid exclusively for internal use within Ca' Foscari University of Venice (e.g., for internal academic requirements or placement purposes).
