The scientific community is cordially invited to contribute to the Congress programme by presenting their research findings through oral presentations or posters. The schedule of proceedings, organised into several parallel sessions, will be finalised based on the contributions submitted by participants.

Awards and medals

Awards for best posters and best oral presentations

Awards will be presented for the best posters and oral presentations delivered during the congress sessions. The best poster awards are sponsored by the Analytical Chemistry Division, and the awards for the best oral presentations are sponsored by Water, Air, & Soil Pollution (Springer).

Contributions will be evaluated based on:

  • relevance to the congress themes
  • innovation of the topics
  • effectiveness and clarity of the communication
  • graphics and design

The awards ceremony for the best posters is scheduled for Wednesday 9 September 2026 during the gala dinner, while the awards ceremony for the best oral presentations will take place on Thursday 10 September 2026 during the closing ceremony.

Awards and medals of the Analytical Chemistry Division

The Analytical Chemistry Division for the year 2026 confers the following awards:

  • Career Award, awarded to a scholar who, through their work and ideas, has significantly contributed to the development and dissemination of the culture of Analytical Chemistry.
  • Giovanni Canneri Memorial Medal, awarded annually to an Italian or foreign scholar who has distinguished themselves through research in the field of Analytical Chemistry.
  • “Ezio Pelizzetti” Medal, established to honor the memory of the Professor by rewarding scholars who have achieved international distinction for innovative interdisciplinary research on the compositional and functional determination of chemical systems.

The Division will also issue calls for the following Youth Awards:

  • Young Researcher Award, to be awarded to a young researcher who has demonstrated exceptional aptitude and interest in studies and research activities within the field of Analytical Chemistry.
  • Thesis Award, intended to reward a five-year, Master’s, or specialist degree thesis defended during the 2025 calendar year and conducted within the Analytical Chemistry sector.

In addition, the Sammartano Family sponsors the Silvio Sammartano PhD Thesis Award, which will be announced by the Analytical Chemistry Division.
The presentation of the Career Award, the Canneri Medal, the Young Researcher Award, the Thesis Award, and the Silvio Sammartano PhD Thesis Award will take place during the Ordinary Assembly of the Analytical Chemistry Division, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
