Office hours

Student office hours are held in person. Students must make an appointment via email (elisa.bordin@unive.it) and come to the professor's office, located on the mezzanine floor above the spiral staircase in Ca' Bernardo.
In the 2nd semester 25-26, office hours will always be held on Friday afternoons from 15:30 to 17:30.
After the end of classes, Professor Bordin will be available to meet with students on the following dates:

Curriculum vitae

Elisa Bordin is Associate Professor of Anglo-American Literature. She graduated in Anglo-American Literature from the University of Padua in 2007 and obtained her Ph.D. in Anglophone Studies from the University of Verona in 2011. She has taught English Language and Anglo-American Literatures at several Italian universities, including the University of Verona, the University of Padua, the University of Ferrara, and the University of Trieste. She was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Verona (2012-2013) and the University of Padua (2016-2019). In 2025, she was qualified to serve as a Full Professor for the sector 10/L1 (English and Anglo-American Language, Literatures, and Cultures). She has participated in both national and international conferences and is a regular member of the Italian Association for North American Studies (AISNA) and the European Association for American Studies (EAAS). Her research interests include the Western genre, studies on blackness and the new African diaspora in the United States, and Californian literature. Since 2023, she has been the Principal Investigator for the PRIN project "Literary California, 1884-2022: Spaces of Exception, Spaces of Disaster," for which she is currently researching extraction literature and the work of Italian American writer John Fante. She has three children.
