The course is one of the courses that characterize the degree in Management, and aims at providing the student with the fundamental concepts of competitive analysis. The main topics of the course deal with the analysis of the competitive advantage of the firm, the analysis of the industry attractiveness and tools for competitors identification.
After completing the course, students will be able to analyze the attractiveness of an industry, the competitive dynamics among rival firms, and the sources of their competitive advantage.
Attendance and active participation in the training activities proposed by the course (lectures and seminars from business representatives) and individual study will enable students to:
- know the main models of competitive analysis;
- know how to exemplify the main theoretical concepts related to the analysis of competition;
- know how to apply the main indicators for the analysis of competition;
- know how to determine the most appropriate method for analyzing how firms compete.

Students who have not passed the Economia Aziendale exam cannot take the Analisi della Concorrenza exam

The study materials will be downloadable from the Moodle platform:

The study materials include both scientific articles and slides presented in class, as well as virtual classroom lessons for the part of the course in blended mode.
All teaching materials will be uploaded on Moodle at least one week before the beginning of the course.
Oral exam, consisting of an interview in which the student must demonstrate to properly master all the contents provided in the moodle platform (texts, slides and online lessons).
Lectures centered on theoretical issues, discussion of case studies, seminars from business representatives.
The course is blended, therefore it includes both class lectures and online lessons
Starting from the A.A. 2019-2020 the program of this exam will be modified coherently and in coordination with the program of the new course "Business Economics and Management" [ET0114-1/2] (12 CFU).
