To enable each student to understand meaning and potentialities of simple Numerical Algorithms; to allow him to implement those Algorithms, and perform simple correctness tests.
Each student can handle basic Numerical Methods. He is able to implement in Matlab simple Numerical Algorithms.
Each student must know the fundamental concepts of Infinitesimal Calculus and Linear Algebra.
o Floating-point numbers.
o Matlab coding.
o Non linear equations.
o Function and data approximation.
o Numerical Differentiation and Integration.
o Linear systems of equations.
o Ordinary Differential Equations.
o Numerical methods for Boundary Value Problems (BVP). (one dimensional problems).

Each student must face a written paper which is intended in order to verify his/her ability in implementing numerical algorithms.
An oral discussion follows, for testing the communication skills of the student.
Classroom lessons.
Classroom PC-based activity.
The moodle platform is exploited,
in order to propose assignments, and supplementary material.
