CHOICE LABORATORY

How can we improve our decisions?
Choosing well is not easy, especially in presence of a multiplicity of actors and conflicting interests.
In Choice Laboratory some simple real-world decision support systems will be presented, the mechanisms influencing the decision-making processes will be analyzed, some cases that relate to both individual choices and collective or social ones will be considered, the relationships between choices and their consequences in certain and uncertain contexts will be investigated.
Finally, case studies and applications will be presented.

Students will become familiar with different kinds of problems and solution techniques that characterise decision problems.

There are no prerequisites for the course.

The exam consists of a written test (closed questions) and of an oral presentation on a topic agreed with the teacher.
