The course aims to consolidate knowledge of French, both written (grammar, vocabulary) and spoken (listening comprehension and speaking), to cover various aspects of tourism in French, especially as regards France, and the acquisition of professional language skills.
The student will be able to understand, both in writing and orally, tourism related texts and express themselves in French using the appropriate vocabulary.
The course is not designed for absolute beginners. Students should have a basic working knowledge of French (level A2).
Development of the understanding and expression skills in French, oral and written, through theoretical lessons and practical exercises, around four macro-themes:
1- Tourism, general considerations
2- Tourism in France
3- Promotion and distribution of the travel
4- The service and the contract of tourism
Material for reference is available online.
Students will need to get one grammar book (e.g. Précis de grammaire française - Grévisse) and an Italian-French dictionnary (e.g. Boch)
The exam consists of two parts:
- written part: grammar test elaborated by the CEL
- oral part: students will have to talk about a topic of their choice between those studied during the lessons (about ten minutes) and bring a folder containing the personal works done during the year.
Each theme of the program will be presented with the help of a theoretical presentation in PowerPoint followed by a practical part (article to read or videos to listen and comment). Some lessons will be dedicated to the preparation of personal work and the simulation of the oral exam.
It is highly recommended to attend the CEL lessons, in particular regarding grammar.
The schedule of lessons, the program, the material to be studied and the exams are clearly displayed in the file called ”Francese del turismo - EM9014 - 2018-19”, in Moodle.
