Through the use of authentic reading material from a wide range of sources, the course focuses on the study of the specific lexis used in business, commerce and economics.
The course also covers aspects of syntax and morphology. On occasion,some grammatical structures (e.g. passive forms, comparatives and superlatives) are reviewed, but it is assumed that students already possess a good grounding in grammar.

Students' knowledge of English must be at least at B1 level of the CEFR before beginning the course.
The course deals with a wide variety of current issues through the use of authentic texts. The topics covered include: marketing and advertising, demography, SMEs, entrepreneurship, public and private debt, statistics, financial crimes & scams, and gender equality.
